Board of Directors Meeting
December 12, 2007 – 10 a.m.

CALL TO ORDER – Beth Ann Surber, President
President Surber called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.
ATTENDANCE
Kathy Beckett, Patti Carnemolla, Polly Diller, Julie Frost, Emily Hopta, Linda
Jernigan, Janice Lessley, Helen Lodge, Jeanne Moore, Kay Morgan, Shelia Neal,
Jane Powell, Beth Ann Surber, Yolanda Tam, Barbara Knight Warren.
SECRETARY’S REPORT – Emily S. Hopta, Secretary
Secretary Hopta presented the minutes from the November Board of Directors
meeting. Janice Lessley motioned to accept as presented. Yolanda Tam seconded.
Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Jane Powell, Treasurer
Treasurer Powell presented the November budget and noted the WVSO has
implemented a 3% charge for all credit transactions. Patti Carnemolla moved
acceptance of the budget; Linda Jernigan seconded. Motion carried.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Beth Ann Surber, President
New committees will be forming to address WVSL needs and all are welcome. The
first meeting will be December 14 from 12-1 p.m. at the Clay Center.
REVIEW OF FUNDRAISING EVENTS
1. Fashion Show – Sallie McClaugherty
No report.
2. Symphony Ball
No report.
3. Teddy Bear Tea – Shelia Neal
No report.
4. Golf Tournament – Beth Ann Surber
No report.
5. Symphony Sunday – Shelia Neal
Symphony Sunday is underway, with more news to come after the first of the year.
6. Kroger Cards – Patti Carnemolla
Kelly George will have cards available for purchase today. These make a great
holiday gift!
7. Melonious Merchandise – Linda Jernigan
All new members attending today’s luncheon will receive charms. Melonious
merchandise also makes lovely holiday presents, and lapel pins and mugs are
available for purchase today.
8. Chocolate Sales – Sallie McClaugherty
No report.
9. Cello Endowment – Helen Lodge
No report.
10. Young People’s Concerts – Yolanda Tam
No report.

ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the league, President Surber wished
everyone the happiest of holiday, extended thanks to Reggie and Patti Carnemolla
for hosting the new member luncheon, and adjourned the meeting at 10:30 a.m.
