The 10th Annual Swingin with the Symphony
Golf Tournament
was held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Edgewood Country
Club Golf Course. It was wonderful in spite of the

sun peeked through later in the afternoon, and we all
had a wonderful time! Please check out our
pictures. The
professional pictures will be posted soon. We thank our sponsors and

The Fall General Meeting
was held at the Governor's Mansion on Wednesday,
May 12, 2007, at 10:00 am. Beth Ann Surber and the new Executive Committee
did a wonderful job of conducting our first meeting of the year, and the
plans for the year sound wonderful! Eight fundraising events are planned
for the year, including the Fashion Show at the Clay Center, the Ball in
early December at the Marriott (organized by Missy Rubin and Janet
Victorson), a Teddy Bear Tea at the Marriott, the Golf Tournament and
Symphony Sunday (June 1, 2008). Helen Lodge and Sallie McClaugherty will
lead the Fall Fashion Show as the first event, where we will get fashion
advice in addition to the actual show. Please send in your dues immediately
if you have not (and list your committees). A few long-time loyal members
have not! We want you, and since we still are proofing the Roster, there is
still just barely time to list you! An updated Events Calendar will be
posted this week with times and details of fundraising events. The WVSO
performances are now listed on the WVSO website (www.wvsymphony.org),
but we will add these to our events calendar after we list our fundraising
events and the remainder of our meetings with the details of times and
places. The Roster is being corrected prior to printing and distribution.
Those wanting to assist with proofreading the Roster, please email Yolanda
Tam at yltam@suddenlink.net.
Pictures from the Fall meeting will be posted tonight. Check the pictures
tab above for pictures from the Spring event at the Governor's Mansion,
where Beth Ann Surber was elected and officially installed as President. Anyone wanting to submit an article for the
website to post on this event, please email it to
scifinerd@suddenlink.net.
Pictures are welcome. |
