The West Virginia Symphony League Fashion Show, " A Celebration of Heroes," Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the University of Charleston, celebrated 10 heroes in the community, including Jennifer Brumfield, an oncology nurse; Dural Miller, the program director for the Keep Your Faith Cooperation on Charleston’s West Side and Harold Hayslett, a World War II veteran and violin maker. The heroes, as well as the model,s walked down the runway. Three models did a special tribute for Helen Lodge, wearing furs from House of LUXE. Models showed off clothes from 20 different retailers, including Tony the Tailor, Two Eighteen, White House Black Market and Heidi Dylan, a boutique downtown.

At the WVSL FALL MEETING at Edgewood Country Club September 10 , Officers and Committee Chairs were introduced (check Committee Chairs link to left), and the Events for the 2015-2016 year were described by President Morgan Robinson (check the WVSL Events Link to left). This year's theme, which will carry over into the events and Symphony Sunday, will be to Celebrate Heroes. Major events to raise $100,000 for the WVSO include the October Fashion Show, the December Children's Tea, the Februry through March Symphony Raffle, the May Symphony Gala honoring Maestro Grant Cooper, and the June Pinnacle Party and Symphony Sunday. Our roster, "The Full Score," and other communications will be distributed electronically to allow more money to go to the WVSO. Those willing to help with Young People's Concerts, please contact Laura Lee Albert.

Welch and Dr. Janet Welch (organized by Tanya Law, see the invitation images below).

Applause Fashion Show sold-out success!
The West Virginia Symphony League hosted its “Applause” Fashion Show Thursday night, May 1, at the Kyle Furniture building in Charleston. Shop Sat. and Sun., May 3 and 4 at Doncaster to benefit the WVSL with this. The show might be over, but fundraising for #APPLAUSE continues through May 11. Lisa Holley is generously donating 10 percent of sales from her Doncaster Apparel trunk show to the West Virginia Symphony League. A Champagne reception was hosted by the Bridge Road Bistro, with service courtesy of Men in Black and Honorary Hosts. Emcee of the Applause Fashion Show was Coach Kidd of Electric 102.7.
